Copyright & Content Takedown Policy
Dark Yarn respects the intellectual property rights of brands, designers and creators. If you own or control the copyright in a work and believe content on darkyarn.com uses it without permission, you can ask us to remove it using the steps below. We review every complete notice promptly.
Who can submit a notice
The copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf (for example, a brand's legal or licensing team or its appointed agent).
How to submit a notice
Send your notice through our contact page, putting "Copyright / Content Takedown" in the subject line, or in writing to our designated agent (details at the bottom of this page).
A valid notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is acceptable).
- A description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed. If one notice covers several works, include a representative list.
- The exact web address (URL) of each page or product on darkyarn.com that contains the material, so we can find it.
- Your name, company or brand, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
Notices that are missing these details may not be actioned. Please do not submit a notice unless you are sure the material is infringing. Knowingly making a false claim can expose you to liability for damages under U.S. law (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).
What happens next
- We review the notice and, where it is complete, remove or disable access to the material.
- We tell the account or vendor responsible for the content that it was removed and why, and may share your notice with them, including your contact details.
- We confirm the outcome to you by email.
Counter-notice
If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to our designated agent. It must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which Dark Yarn may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice.
We forward the counter-notice to the original complainant. Unless the complainant tells us within 10 business days that it has filed a court action, we may restore the material between 10 and 14 business days after receiving the counter-notice.
Repeat infringers
Where appropriate, we terminate the accounts of vendors and users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.
Trademark and other claims
For trademark, counterfeit, design-right or other intellectual property concerns, send the same details through the contact page and state the type of claim. Include your registration numbers and the URLs concerned.
